An email signature you can paste anywhere

Your name, role, links and logo in a clean signature. Copy it into Gmail, Outlook or Apple Mail, or take the HTML code or a plain-text version.

Your details
Look

The logo is stored inside the signature. Some mail apps, Gmail among them, hide images stored this way; if yours does, turn the logo off here and add it in your mail app’s signature settings instead.

Your details stay on this device. The signature is built in your browser and nothing is uploaded. Make a clean, professional email signature with your name, job title, contact details and logo, then paste it into your mail app. It is free and private.

How to make an email signature

  1. Under Your details, fill in your Name, Job title, Business, Phone, Email, Website and Address. If you have set up Your Snowkit, these are filled in for you.
  2. Under Look, choose a Link colour and a Font: Arial, Georgia, Trebuchet or Courier.
  3. Choose a Layout: Logo beside the text or Logo above the text, and decide whether to include the logo.
  4. Check the Preview, which shows the signature in a sample email.
  5. Press Copy signature, or choose Plain text or HTML code.

Adding it to your mail app

Press Copy signature, then open your mail app’s signature settings and paste. In Gmail that is Settings, See all settings, General, Signature. In Outlook on the web it is Settings, Mail, Compose and reply. In Apple Mail it is Settings, Signatures. Some apps, such as Thunderbird, take the HTML code instead.

Why a table?

Mail apps handle modern web layouts poorly, so the signature uses a simple table with the styles written on each part. That keeps it looking the same in most inboxes, on phones too. The plain-text version is for apps and replies that do not show formatting.

Your logo

The logo is placed inside the signature itself, so there is nothing to host. Some mail apps hide pictures placed this way; if yours does, leave the logo out and the rest of the signature still works. Logos can be PNG, JPG or SVG files.

Tips for a good signature

  • Keep it short: a name, role, one or two ways to reach you, and a website.
  • Use one font and one colour so it looks tidy in every inbox.
  • Keep the logo small. A large image slows email and can look like an attachment.
  • Test it by sending an email to yourself and opening it on your phone.
  • Avoid long quotes and legal text unless your employer requires them.

Who uses it

Freelancers and small business owners, job seekers who want their emails to look polished, teachers and staff in schools and clubs. For a full set of branded letters and covers, see branded documents.

Questions

Is my information stored online?

No. The signature is built in your browser and nothing is uploaded.

Why does the logo not show for the people I email?

Some mail apps hide pictures by default. The text still shows, so make sure your key contact details are in words, not only in the logo.

Which version should I copy?

Copy the signature and paste it in most apps. Use HTML code if your app asks for it, and plain text where formatting is not supported.

Where to next

Carry on with what you just made, still on your device.
