Carousels that swipe as one picture

Split a wide photo into slides that join up as people swipe, or write text slides in your colours. Save them as images or as one PDF for LinkedIn.

A panorama or a long design works best. It is cut at exact slide edges so the picture flows as people swipe.

Slides are made on your device. Your photos and text are not uploaded. Turn one wide picture or a list of points into a set of swipeable slides for social media, free and private.

Two kinds of carousel

A split carousel cuts one wide picture, such as a panorama or a long design, into slides that line up exactly, so the picture flows as people swipe. Text slides turn a list of points into a clean set of cards with a big title, a short body, your name and a slide number, the format that does well on Instagram and LinkedIn.

How to make a carousel

  1. Choose Split a wide image or Text slides. Try an example shows what each looks like.
  2. For a split carousel, press Open a wide image. For text slides, write the title and body for each slide.
  3. Use the arrows in Slides to change the order.
  4. Pick a Slide shape and a Look: Colour, Light or Dark, and a Font.
  5. Under On every slide, add your Name or handle, Slide numbers or your logo with Add my logo.
  6. Choose JPG, PNG or PDF and press Download images.

Tips for carousels people finish

  • Make the first slide a clear promise, such as a question or a bold result.
  • Keep one idea per slide, with big, short text.
  • End with a simple next step, like save, follow or visit.
  • For a split image, design the picture so important parts do not fall on the cut lines.
  • Use the same font and colours on every slide so the set feels like one piece.

Questions

Which size should I use?

4:5 at 1080 × 1350 takes up the most room in the Instagram and LinkedIn feeds. Square 1080 × 1080 suits Facebook and older Instagram grids. Every slide in a carousel has the same shape.

How do I post a PDF carousel on LinkedIn?

Download the PDF, start a post on LinkedIn, choose to add a document and pick the file. Each page becomes a swipeable slide. For Instagram, use the images in the zip instead, in order.

How many slides can I make?

Up to ten for a split image, which is the most Instagram shows in one post in many places. Text carousels can have up to twenty slides.

Will the split slides line up?

Yes. The picture is scaled once and cut at exact slide edges, so nothing is lost or repeated between slides. If the picture is not wide enough, the top and bottom are trimmed to keep the slides full.

Are my images uploaded?

No. Everything is made in your browser.
