Headings and lines

Type your sections and prices, add your logo and a QR code to your online menu, and print a clean PDF. It is free, and your menu is laid out on this device and kept here for next time. Nothing is uploaded.

How to make a menu, step by step

  1. Press Try an example to see the format, or clear it and start your own.
  2. In Sections and items, start a section with # and its name. Put each item on its own line with the price at the end, and a description after a | sign. A line starting with > is a note under the section.
  3. Fill in the Title, the line under the title and the Footer. You can also choose a Logo.
  4. Add a web address for the QR code if you want guests to scan to your online menu.
  5. Choose the Colour, Font, number of columns and paper size, then press Download PDF.

From a list to a printed menu

Type the menu the way you would write it on paper. Sections become headings in your colour, prices line up on the right, and descriptions sit in smaller type under each item. Long menus flow onto more pages, and sections are never split between columns. Fonts come as Classic serif, Clean sans or Typewriter, on A4 or Letter paper, in one or two columns. The Text file button saves your menu text so you can keep or reuse it.

Tips for a menu people can read

  • Keep section names short, such as Starters, Mains and Drinks.
  • Write descriptions in a few words. Long paragraphs slow people down.
  • Use one column for a short menu or a price list, and two columns for a long one.
  • Pick a dark colour for headings so they print well in black and white.
  • Print one copy and check the QR code with your phone before printing a stack.

Who uses it

Cafes, food trucks, bakeries and home bakers make menus for the counter or a market stall. Salons, repair shops, studios and tutors use the same layout as a price list. Event organisers use it for a drinks list or a set menu. Your name, address and logo can be filled in automatically from Your Snowkit.

Private by design

Everything happens in your browser. The text, the logo and the finished PDF are never uploaded, and the menu is saved only on this device.

Questions

How do I write sizes or two prices?

Write them as you want them shown, such as Pizza 12 / 16 or Latte $4.50. The price is the last part of the line, so anything in front of it is the item name.

What should the QR code open?

Your online menu, ordering page or website. Guests scan it from the table to see allergens, photos or to order. Leave it empty for no QR code, and test it with your phone before printing. For a styled code, see the QR designer.

Can I use it for a price list?

Yes. Salons, repair shops, market stalls and studios use the same layout for services and prices. Choose one column for a simple list.

How do I print it?

Open the PDF and print at 100% or Actual size. A print shop can use the same file for card stock or a poster.
