Download

Add one file to edit it, or several to join them. Everything happens on this device. Join clips, change speed and pitch, adjust the volume and add fades, then save the result as MP3 or WAV. It is free and private.

How to edit audio

  1. Press Choose audio files and add one or more files. Set the order under Order.
  2. If you added several, choose how to Join them: Back to back, 1 s of silence, 1 s crossfade or 3 s crossfade.
  3. Adjust Speed and pitch, Volume and Fades as needed.
  4. Choose the Format, MP3 or WAV, and press Make audio.
  5. Listen to the result and press Download.

Remove all clears the list and starts again.

What you can do

  • Join songs, voice memos or podcast parts back to back, with a short pause or a smooth crossfade.
  • Change the speed from half speed to double speed. With Keep the pitch on, voices sound natural at any speed, which is handy for lectures and practice tracks.
  • Change the pitch up or down by up to an octave without changing the length, for example to match a song to your singing range.
  • Set the volume up to 20 dB louder or quieter, or let the tool raise it as far as it can go without distortion.
  • Fade in and out so a clip starts and ends gently instead of with a click.

Supported files

You can add MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, OGG, Opus and FLAC audio, and MP4 or WebM video, from which the sound is used.

WAV or MP3

MP3 is small and plays everywhere, so it is the right choice for sharing. WAV keeps every detail and suits further editing, but files are about ten times larger.

Tips for good results

  • Use a short crossfade between songs and the silence option between spoken parts.
  • For learning a song, slow it down with the pitch kept, then speed it back up as you improve.
  • Use a fade out of two or three seconds to end a clip naturally.
  • Make small pitch changes. A few steps sound natural, while extremes sound artificial.
  • If the sound has background hiss, use the audio clean-up first.

Common uses

Students speeding up a recorded lecture, musicians practising along with a slowed track, podcasters joining an intro to an episode, and small businesses making hold music or voicemail greetings.

Good to know

All files are converted to 44.1 kHz so they can be joined. Long recordings use a lot of memory while they are edited, so a phone handles shorter files than a computer. Changing speed and pitch at the same time takes a little longer.

Private by design

Your recordings are opened and edited by your browser. Nothing is uploaded, so interviews, voice notes and unreleased music stay with you.

Questions

Can I cut a section out of a file?

This tool joins, speeds up, changes the pitch and fades whole files. To remove silence, use the audio clean-up.

Why does my edit take a while?

The browser processes the audio in full. Long files and combined speed and pitch changes take longer.

Will quality drop?

MP3 output is compressed, so save as WAV if you plan to edit again.
