Put in names, prizes or choices, one per line, and spin. Use it to pick a winner, choose who goes first, decide what is for dinner, or split everyone into fair random teams. It is free, with no ads and no sign-up.
How to use the wheel, step by step
- Type or paste your Entries, one per line.
- Press Spin.
- Read who or what was Picked. Turn on Remove the winner if each entry should only win once.
- To make groups, choose the number of teams under Random teams and press Make teams.
Fair and random
Each spin uses your browser's cryptographic random number generator, the same kind used for passwords, so every entry has an equal chance. Add an entry twice to double its chance.
Random teams
Choose how many teams you need and press Make teams. Everyone is shuffled and dealt out evenly, so team sizes never differ by more than one.
Ideas for using it
- Teachers can pick who answers next, who presents first or who leads a group.
- Hosts can choose a giveaway winner, a raffle prize or a game order.
- Families can settle chores, movie night and dinner.
- Teams can pick who runs the meeting or who takes notes.
- Clubs and classes can make balanced groups for a project.
Tips
Remove the winner to draw several names in a row without repeats. Keep the list short enough to read on the wheel, and use Make teams for large groups instead. For other kinds of randomness, such as numbers, dice or passwords, try the random generator.
Privacy
Your list stays in this browser. Nothing is uploaded.
Questions
Is the wheel really random?
Yes. It uses the same secure random source browsers use for passwords, and every entry has an equal chance.
Can I draw more than one winner?
Yes. Turn on Remove the winner and spin again.
How do I make a name more likely?
Add it more than once. Two entries give it double the chance.
Can I save my list?
Copy the entries into your own notes to reuse them.
