Checklists for the paperwork that matters

Pick a checklist, tick things off as you gather them, add notes, and print a copy. Each item links to the tool that helps with it.

My items

Click an item to add a note

Your ticks and notes are saved in this browser for each checklist. Nothing is uploaded. Work through ready-made lists for tax season, renting, loans, job applications and handing in assignments, free and private.

    How to use a checklist

    1. Choose the checklist you need.
    2. Tick items off as you gather them. Untick all clears the ticks and starts again.
    3. Click the text of an item to add a note, such as where a document is kept.
    4. Write your own item in New item and press Add.
    5. Press Print as PDF to keep a copy.

    What the checklists cover

Tax season lists the income records, receipts and personal details most people need before filing. Rental application and Loan or mortgage application list what landlords and lenders usually ask for. Job application walks through the documents and the follow-up, and Assignment submission covers the last checks before you hand work in. Requirements differ by country and by organisation, so check the official list from your tax office, landlord, lender or school as well.

Notes, your own items and printing

Click the text of an item to open a note under it, such as where a document is kept or a reference number. Add items of your own at the bottom. Print as PDF gives a tidy copy with your ticks and notes, handy to take to an appointment.

    Getting documents ready

Links next to an item open the Snowkit tool that helps, such as scanning both sides of an ID card onto one page, hiding account numbers before you share a statement, combining everything into one PDF or shrinking it to fit an email. All of them work on your device.

    Tips for fewer last-minute scrambles

    • Start early. Many documents, such as employer letters or bank statements, take days to get.
    • Keep digital copies together in one folder with clear names.
    • Note the deadline at the top of your own notes and add it to your calendar.
    • Compare the list with the official one before you submit.

    Common uses

Renters applying for a flat, first-time buyers collecting paperwork for a mortgage, students submitting coursework, and anyone dreading tax time. To track your applications as they progress, try the application tracker.

    Where to next
