Kept on this device, even with the tab closed

Start a timer or add time by hand for each client and project. Round it the way you bill, and add the hours to an invoice in one click. The timer keeps running if you close the tab, and every entry is kept on this device. Nothing is uploaded and there is no account. It is free, with no ads.

How to track your time, step by step

  1. Under Timer, enter a Client, Project and Task and press Start. Stop it when you finish.
  2. Or use Add time by hand and enter the Date, Client, Project, Task and Time spent.
  3. Set your Hourly rate and how to round each entry under Billing.
  4. Filter Entries by client and date to see just that work.
  5. Press Download CSV, or Add to invoice.

Rounding the way you bill

Many freelancers bill in steps of 6 or 15 minutes. Pick a step (5, 6, 10, 15 or 30 minutes, or 1 hour) and whether to round to the nearest step, always up or always down. Each entry is rounded on its own, the same way most billing software does it, so the totals match what you send.

From hours to an invoice

Pick a client and dates to see just that work, then press Add to invoice. The invoice maker opens with one line per project, day, entry or client, the hours as the quantity and your hourly rate as the price.

Keeping a copy

Entries stay in this browser until you delete them. Export a CSV now and then to keep a backup, or to open your hours in a spreadsheet or send them to a client.

Tips for accurate billing

  • Start the timer when you start, not at the end of the day.
  • Use a clear task name, so the client understands each line on the invoice.
  • Agree your rounding rule with the client before you start.
  • Review the week before you invoice.
  • Send a quote first with the quote maker if the price is fixed.

Who uses it

Freelancers, consultants, tutors, contractors and small agencies that bill by the hour, and employees who need to log time against projects.
