Snowkit Studio is a video editor for YouTube, Shorts, TikTok and Reels that runs in your browser. Your clips are never uploaded, so a long recording opens straight away and stays private.
How it works
Pick a starting point, such as a talking-to-camera short, a YouTube video, a tutorial, a podcast clip, a vlog or a photo slideshow, and add your videos, photos and music. Clips line up on the main track, where you can trim them from either end, split them at the playhead, drag them into a new order, and change their speed and volume. Every change can be undone.
Overlays, B-roll and picture in picture
Drag a video or photo onto an overlay track above your main video to show it on top: B-roll over a talking head, a facecam in the corner, a logo or a screenshot. Click it on the preview to move it, drag a corner to resize it, drag an edge to stretch it, or use the round handle to rotate it. Crop it, round its corners, fade it, or snap it to a corner in one click. Main clips can be moved, scaled and rotated on the video the same way.
Any shape, any size
Change the shape at any time with the buttons at the top: 16:9 for YouTube, 9:16 for Shorts, TikTok and Reels, 1:1 square or 4:5 for the Instagram feed. Custom gives you 4:3, 21:9 and more, or any exact size in pixels. Each clip fills the frame, shows the whole shot with soft bars, or stretches to fit.
Effects and transitions
Give each clip a look, such as vivid, warm, cool, film or black and white, and fine-tune brightness, contrast, saturation and warmth. Add a slow zoom, a punch-in or a pan to keep a shot moving, and pick a transition into the next clip: crossfade, dip to black or white, slide, zoom or blur. Every clip, overlay, sound and title can fade in and out.
Voiceover and music
Record a voiceover straight onto the timeline while your video plays, and it lands where you started. Music, voice and your own sound effects each get their own track with a waveform, so you can line up a beat by eye.
Captions, made on your device
Make captions listens to your video with a speech model that runs on this device and writes word-timed captions. Pick a style, such as bold words with a highlight, punchy capitals, clean subtitles or a karaoke highlight that follows along, then set the position, size and how many words show at a time. If a word comes out wrong, double-click it in the Words tab and fix it. Captions are burned into the video when you export, and you can also download them as an SRT file for YouTube.
Edit by editing the words
Once captions are made, the Words tab shows everything that was said. Click a word to jump there, select words and cut them, and the video is cut to match. Remove ums and uhs takes out filler words in one go, and Remove long pauses trims the dead air between sentences. Every automatic cut is listed, so you can listen to it and put back any that took out too much.
A timeline that keeps up
Zoom the timeline with Ctrl and the scroll wheel, a trackpad pinch or the zoom slider, and press Fit to see the whole video again. Clips, overlays, titles and sounds snap to each other and to the playhead as you drag them, and you can make the timeline taller by dragging its top edge.
Export every format at once
Choose the shapes you want and the quality, from 720p to 4K, and Studio makes an MP4 for each, using your graphics chip to keep it quick. You also get a captions file, chapter times for your YouTube description, a Premiere Pro timeline of your cuts if you want to keep going in Premiere or After Effects, and an ffmpeg command that makes the same cut from your original files.
Good to know
Studio works best in the latest Chrome or Edge on a computer. Very long 4K projects need a fast computer and free disk space. Your projects and media are kept in this browser, so clearing this site's data removes them.
