Set an alarm for a time of day, give it a name, and choose the days it repeats. When it goes off you can snooze or stop it. It is a free online alarm clock with no ads and no sign-up. Your alarms are saved on this device, and they ring as long as this tab stays open.
How to set an alarm, step by step
- Under New alarm, choose a time, or press a quick button such as In 5 min, In 15 min, In 30 min or In 1 hour.
- Type a Name so you know what it is for.
- Pick the days under Repeat on, or leave them blank for a one-off alarm.
- Choose a Sound and how long to Snooze for, then press Set alarm.
- Click anywhere on the page once so the browser allows sound, and press Test sound to check your volume.
Setting an alarm
Choose a time, or tap one of the quick buttons to ring in a few minutes. Leave the days blank for a one-off alarm that switches itself off after ringing, or pick days for one that repeats, such as weekdays at 7:00. Name it so you know what it is for when it goes off. A 24-hour clock option is there if you prefer it.
Snooze and sounds
When an alarm rings, the screen shows its name in large type with Snooze and Stop. Snooze rings again after the time you chose, which can be 5, 9, 10 or 15 minutes. Each alarm can use its own sound: Chime, Bell, Beeps, Digital or Gentle rise. All of them are made by your browser on the spot, so there is nothing to download.
What to know before relying on it
A browser tab cannot wake a sleeping computer or ring after it has been closed, so keep the tab open and the computer awake. If the alarm time passes while the computer is asleep, it rings when it wakes, unless more than 30 minutes have gone by. Alarms are saved only in this browser and nothing is sent anywhere. For anything important, set a backup alarm on another device.
Good uses
- A reminder to leave for a meeting or a class.
- A nap alarm at your desk.
- A medication or break reminder on a work day.
- Kitchen timing when your phone is out of reach. For counting down a set length, use the stopwatch and timer.
