Ideas
- White for marketplace and shop product photos.
- A brand colour or soft gradient for profile pictures, team pages and slides.
- Light grey or blue for a tidy headshot. For official ID photos, check the exact rules where you apply.
- A picture to place a product in a new scene or a person in front of a new view.
How it works
A segmentation model finds the main subject of the photo and works out which pixels belong to it, including soft edges such as hair. The new background is then placed behind the subject. Change the colour or gradient as often as you like; the subject is only found once.
Tips for good results
- Start with a sharp, evenly lit photo where the subject stands out from what is behind it.
- If you see a faint halo, raise the edge softness a little, or choose a background close to the old one.
- Pick colours that suit the subject. Strong, clashing colours can look cheap.
- Save as PNG when you want the best quality, and JPG when you want a smaller file.
