Every photo is converted on this device.
iPhones save photos as HEIC, which many Windows apps, websites and forms won't open. Turn HEIC and HEIF photos into JPG or PNG files that work everywhere, free and private on your device.
How to convert HEIC to JPG
- Press Choose photos, or drop your HEIC files onto the page. Add photos adds more later.
- Choose what to Convert to: JPG or PNG.
- For JPG, set the JPG quality.
- Press Convert.
- Download the photos one by one, or press Download all (.zip). Clear all removes the list.
What is a HEIC file?
HEIC is the photo format iPhones and iPads use by default. It keeps photos small without losing quality, but Windows, many websites, online forms and older apps can't open it. JPG works everywhere, so converting is the quickest fix.
Batch conversion
Add a whole folder of photos at once. Each one is converted on this device, and you can download them one by one or together as a ZIP. Photos taken in Live Photo or burst mode convert their main image.
JPG or PNG
Choose JPG for photos you want to share, email or upload: the files are small and open everywhere. Choose PNG when you need an exact copy with no compression, for example to edit further.
Tips
- For most uses a JPG quality of about 85 to 90 percent looks the same as the original and keeps files small.
- PNG files can be several times larger than JPG, so use them only when you need them.
- If an upload form has a size limit, convert first, then shrink with compress image to size.
- For other formats such as WebP or BMP, try the image converter.
Common uses
- Sending iPhone photos to a Windows user.
- Uploading photos to a job application, school portal or marketplace.
- Putting photos into a document or slide deck that rejects HEIC.
- Printing at a shop whose system does not read HEIC.
Privacy
Your photos never leave this device. They are decoded and converted inside your browser, and the location and camera details stored in the original are left out of the converted files.
Questions
Can I stop my iPhone saving HEIC?
Yes. On the iPhone go to Settings, Camera, Formats and choose Most Compatible. New photos are then saved as JPG.
Does it work on Mac and iPhone too?
Yes. It works in any modern browser on Windows, Mac, Android and iPhone.
Is there a limit on the number of photos?
No set limit, but large batches use more memory, so a computer handles them better than a phone.
Will the quality change?
JPG is compressed, so there is a very small difference at high quality. PNG keeps an exact copy.
