How to scan a document
Lay the page flat on a darker surface, take a photo from above, and add it here. The page edges are found automatically, the photo is straightened as if taken head-on, and you can fine-tune each corner by dragging. Add more photos for more pages, then download one PDF.
- Press Take or choose photos. On a phone this can open the camera.
- Check the outline. Use Find edges to try again, or Whole photo to skip the cropping.
- Choose the look: Black and white, Colour, Grey or Original.
- Choose the Page size: A4, Letter or As scanned.
- Press Add more pages for further pages, then Download PDF.
Black and white, colour or grey
Black and white removes shadows and makes printed and handwritten text crisp, which suits forms, letters and receipts. Colour brightens the page while keeping stamps, signatures and highlights. Grey is a middle ground for photos and mixed pages.
Tips for a good scan
- Use even light and avoid your own shadow falling across the page.
- Put the page on a surface that contrasts with the paper, such as a dark desk.
- Hold the phone parallel to the page and fill most of the frame.
- Keep the paper flat. Press folded or curled pages under a book.
- Check text is readable at full size before sending it anywhere.

Yes. Download the PDF, then run it through scanned PDF to text to get the words out.
How many pages can I add?
As many as you like. Very long documents use more memory, so a computer handles fifty pages more comfortably than a phone.
Why did the edges not match the page?
Low contrast between page and background can fool the edge finder. Drag the corners by hand, or retake the photo on a darker surface.
Which paper size should I pick?
Choose A4 or Letter for printing and sharing, or As scanned to keep the page shape you photographed.
