Your files and privacy

Your files are read and processed on your own device. Here is where they go, what stays, and how to clear it.

Where your files go

Nowhere but your device. The tools have no upload step and no server that receives documents: your browser opens each file, does the work, and the result comes straight from its memory. It downloads through your browser's normal download, and when a tool makes several files, it offers a single ZIP.

What is kept on this device

A copy of what you make is kept in your Library on this device, so you can find it again later. To stop that, untick Keep my downloads in my Library under Storage and backup on the Library page. Many tools also remember your last options in this browser. Your chat with Kitsune stays in the open tab and is gone when you close it.

Cloud services and sync

If you sign in and turn on private sync, files you keep in your Library are locked on your device before they are saved, so only your devices can open them. Turning sync off deletes the synced copy from our servers.

On some pages you can open a file from Dropbox, Google Drive or OneDrive, or save a result there. This only happens when you press that button and pick the account, and the file goes straight between your browser and that service. Sending a file to Notion or Canva passes through Snowkit's server on the way, encrypted, and is never stored.

Tools that look things up

A few tools need the internet to do their job: Citation generator, MCP tester, Snowkit Launch, Expiry checker, DNS lookup, Pre-launch scan and HTTP header checker. They send the domain, address or reference you type and nothing else.

Clearing your history

Clear my history on the privacy page removes what Snowkit keeps about your visits in this browser. Clearing this site's data in your browser settings also removes your Library, so download a backup first if you want to keep it.

For the details, read the privacy policy. IT teams can find the architecture and network rules on the security page.
